BOAZ – The Snead State Community College softball team has been named an All-Academic Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The team was ranked fifth nationally and finished the year with a 3.407 team grade point average.
"I'm very proud of my girls for achieving such a high honor. They worked extremely hard in achieving this goal we set from the beginning of the year. They not only worked really hard day in and day out on the field but also in the classroom as well," said Coach Lisa Bright. "They understand that academics must come first, and I can't be more proud of how they worked together to achieve this. This will take them much further in life once they have that degree."
In addition to the team honors, ten Lady Parsons were named All-America Scholar Athletes by the NFCA.
"We are very proud of these players and Coach Bright," said Athletic Director Mark Richard. "We pour so much effort into seeing our student-athletes do well not only on the fields or courts but in the classroom as well. We stress the importance of a student-athlete, and this is a testament to that and to the hard work of these young ladies."
